EAT MUSIC. WATCH ICE CREAM.
WE JUST RESURRECTED CLASSIC MTV.
If you miss (or never got the chance to experience) MTV in the 80s or 90s, you can go ahead and start planning for how you'll thank us. Because we just unveiled, with warts and all, the first version of Watch Ice Cream - a streaming app that re-imagines all the great parts of MTV's early era.
What you can expect is a typical streaming-style library of music videos and music-related videos. But, there's also THE BROADCAST, which is a regularly-posted feed of bits from our library, along with a few interstitials, station IDs, and even commercials (don't worry - they're minimal and don't suck.) The Broadcast is meant to mimic the feel of watching live tv, and it will eventually become a 24/7 feed of programming.
If you're a practical person, you're probably wondering why anyone would do this. The short answer is that we thought it would be pretty sick. The long answer is rooted in philosophical musings about music curation and discovery, and if these are best performed by humans or robots.
It's obviously packaged and presented in a totally different manner than OG MTV (sorry, we're not on cable.) And we don't have the backing of Time Warner or American Express (like MTV did when they started.) So don't expect anything too fancy just yet. This is 100% DIY, and it's what it looks like when you don't let 'perfect' get in the way of 'this has potential.'
For now, we're limited to a web-only experience. Mobile and connected tv apps will be coming very soon. Your early support not only makes it easier to fast track these apps, but also affords us the ability to expand the catalog with lots more music videos and original programming. It also locks you into a super low price for the life of your time with us, and you get the first 14 days for free.
If you're ready to make 2026 feel a little more tolerable, here's your ticket.
